Why Do The Stocks Of Companies That Pay No Dividends Have Positive Often Quite High Values?

0

I have very little experience with stocks and I have struggled to learn as much as I can. One thing I have learned is that when companies announce a dividend, they lower the stock price by the dividend amount at that time. This action in my humble opinion means that the stockholders fund their own dividend. So dividends don’t influence me very much in selecting a stock to invest on. I don’t claim to be an expert on this in any stretch of the imagination, I can prove that by my losses in the stock market over the last 1 1/2 years.
