Why do the rear wheels on my RC model point inwards instead of straight ahead (toed-in)?

Luckily, this is a easy fixed. The main reason why the spur gear may melt or strip is due to an incorrect distance between them. If the distance between them is too far, the power of the engine can easily tear up the gear in a heartbeat. If the distance between them is too close, excessive friction will cause the clutch to overheat, resulting in a melted/stripped spur gear. To adjust the distance loosen the four engine screws, allowing the engine to slide back and forth. Then place a small 1/4 inch by six-inch wide paper between the spur gear and clutch bell.
