I have a 2003 mazda tribute and one day I noticed my rpm needle and my speedometer both float to the far right the speedometer went as high up as 100 the rpm also. It occurs simultaneously. I had it checked out they told me they couldn’t find anything. I still have it happen from time to time but I am starting to worry that I may have transmission problems, I use to think it happened because I had the air conditioning on and the car was pulling then I realized there were times I was on level ground, also it would then float all the way to the left I didn’t increase speed or loose speed the needles would just go crazy. Mazda told me that the weight of my keys in the ignition could be doing it, I don’t have alot of keys on the ring. Help please I am ready to trade the car in, it has only 48,000 miles.
