Why do the marathon and half marathon runners get the same medal?

A couple people have asked why the medal only says “Wisconsin Marathon” on it. The reason is because that is the name of the event. The half marathon just happens to be part of the Wisconsin Marathon event. (We do cheat a little for the half marathoners, though. The ribbon does list both distances.) If we created different medals for both races, we would have to order them closer to race day (so we know an exact count of how many we would need); the later we order them, the more expensive they are, and the more it would cost you to run the race.
