Many icons you find on free icon sites on the Web are not multi-format (complex icons). Instead, they are single-format icons. For best results use only multi-format icons, especially in Windows XP and Windows Vista. Multi-format icons contain several different size icons in the same file, therefore when Windows resizes them on your desktop they do not become blurry or have the rough edges that single-format icons do. It is especially important if you’re using Windows XP or Windows Vista that you use only multi-format icons. See our tutorials page for more information about complex icons and creating your own FolderMagic collections.
