Why do the Final round judges not have to use the Genesis scoresheet?
The editors and agents who judge the Final round of the Genesis are generously donating their time to judge the Final round entries. Most editors and agents have indicated a preference for giving a simple numerical score and a few comments rather than filling out a scoresheet. Some judges will opt to use their own scoresheets. This is entirely up to them. The Genesis contest does not require the Final round judges to use scoresheets at all. Therefore, some Finalists might receive scoresheets rather than comments for their Final round feedback. This is entirely at the discretion of the Final round judge, who is donating his/her time to judge the Final round entries. Whether the Final round judge uses a scoresheet or simply gives a numerical score and comments, the numerical score will be used to determine the Category winners for each category.
