Why do the filtration systems not reduce TDS?

TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids in the water and is primarily made up of dissolved minerals, which cant be seen with the naked eye, i.e. calcium. TDS is not always related to harmful contaminants and it is very deceptive for companies to imply that a reduction in TDS means improved water quality when in most cases it does not. The only way to dramatically reduce TDS is by reverse osmosis water filters or demineralizers.
