Why do the color bars have flashing patches?
Before AVIA, saturation and hue were set by comparing the relative brightness of color patches and bars. Many users have difficulty telling exactly when the patches and bars are of equal brightness. AVIA improves accuracy using flashing patches. One simply adjusts saturation and hue until flashing is minimized. The flashing allows very accurate comparison of brightness levels. You’ll also notice that AVIA’s color patches are positioned higher on the screen to better avoid on-screen display menus.
