Why do the brides throw their bouquet on their wedding?

0

I’m not sure if this is the correct background on the tradition, but I once heard this: Hundreds of years ago, touching the bride or obtaining something she was wearing was considered good luck. Therefore, other single women would want to touch the bride in hopes they were the next to be married. It was like the bride was passing the luck. Eventually, the bride started throwing a bouquet. Who ever caught that was said to be the next to marry. Today, brides throw the bouquet in that tradition. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be the next to marry anymore. Unmarried women who catch the bouquet today consider it good luck in whatever future endeavors come their way. I love the bouquet toss!!!
