Why do the Adenogen and Rotagen kits use a latex reagent and latex control?
In both cases, each kit contains the latex reagent which is coated with the specific antibodies to detect the corresponding antigen (viral particles of Adenovirus and Rotavirus respectively) and the latex control which is not coated with antibodies. In the event of specific reaction, the latex control should not show any type of agglutination with the sample.
