Why do teen girls get pregnant?
A lot of teens don’t receive sex education including contraception in this silly time of “abstinence only” mandates. The powers that be think ignorance will keep teens from having sex and comprehensive sex education would encourage sex. The fact is that as long as there have been people, raging hormones overcome reason on a regular basis. There are some ill-educated teen girls who are convinced by ignorant boyfriends that “they won’t get them pregnant.” I guess by willpower alone… that results in pregnancies every day. Then there are probably a few girls who seek to trap a guy into young marriage or just have a baby to have someone to love. It seems a lack of education and resources is at the root of most of the problem of teen pregnancy. “Just say no” doesn’t work any better on this problem than it did on the drug problem. Education can provide the solution to a lot of problems and lack of it can create a host more.
