Why do Taiwanese wear their jackets backwards when they ride a motorcycle?
As a Taiwanese, I think I’ll pitch in my two cents. It’s because the back of a jacket a) is longer than the front, so less neck or chest will be exposed when you wear a jacket backwards. b) normally doesn’t have a zipper or a row of buttons, which further lowers the chance for air currents to get in. As a result, you’ll be better protected from the cold brought to you by the wind, or in some cases, the tan by the sun, when wearing a jacket backwards. ======================================= Wow, my answer goes from 2 thumb-ups to 3 thumb-downs. Not that it’s important, but I really don’t think my answer is idiotic or offensive enough to deserve this. Interesting.
