Why do spammers use Blind Carbon Copy?
Senders of junk mail use the Blind Carbon Copy (Bcc) field when sending spam because they are trying to find out if your mailbox is “live.” If you respond to their e-mails, perhaps thinking it was sent in error, they now know that your inbox is “live.” And will continue to spam you. A second reason is that multiple addresses, in some mail programs, look unappealing since the addresses are shown above the message. The junk mail sender wants you to focus on their message. Bcc is a very common way for spammers to target your inbox.
