Why do some white folks hate on Rap then dance to it in the clubs?
Personally, and I am older, I would listen to rap over metal or rock any day of the week, metal and rock give me a headache. As far as the words go, I let my kids listen to rap and we get a kick out of it becuase they know how they should behave and what rappers say is strictly entertainment. I laugh when my 5 year old sings her abc’s and then follows up with every day I’m hustlin. Plus white folks have to dance to rap becuase I don’t think dancing to metal or rock is possible, but I don’t think people listen to the words when they are dancing. As far as sophistication is concerned none of the music you have mentioned is really sophisticated, for that you have to go old school to R&B, and classical. But I will keep listening to rap when I want to get pumped up, like doing housework, or working out, or dancing.
