Why do some teenagers grow up to do bad things?

I don’t think you are going to find a simple answer to your question. However, I think teenagers are naturally curious and like to try things out – to find out what happens when you break the rules, have your first drink or first cigarette. What happens after that probably depends on a combination of their personality type, experiences and the people that they have around them. For some it’s a cry for attention. Others want to feel accepted by their peers. Some want to assert their independence. The ones who take it to extreme however, probably enjoy the element of risk that comes with their behaviour. There’s something thrilling about doing something illegal for the first time and not getting caught. Most will grow out of it soon enough. Unfortunately, some don’t. The truly frightening thing though – ask any teenager why they’re acting like this and they’ll tell you that they don’t know. It’s only something that can be explained with hindsight.
