Why do some students with disabilities get extended time on exams/quizzes?
One factor covered by the American with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is the right of the student with a disability to take exams with appropriate accommodations that allow them to demonstrate their abilities. Depending of the student and the exam, one or more accommodations may be requested.
