Why do some people think that psychologists aren really a type of doctor?

Oh, you DID mean Psychiatrist. Alright, now it makes a little more sense- (your question that is). Yeah, it is funny how some people just consider Psychiatry to be “the easy way out”, but I find that statement to be so ironic considering Psychiatrists have to go through further training than do your general medical doctors. I’m not sure why people feel this way, but maybe it has to do with the ideas of Psychiatrist sitting in an office and talking about mental problems. Many people still think that mental illness and physical illnesses are not at related, but little do they know that all mental illnesses have physical components and that the mind, the brain, and the body work together, so if the mind is giving you trouble, something is probably wrong in brain chemistries too, which is why the Psychiatrist has to be so highly trained- he understands these brain chemistries and knows which drugs can help treat it!

What is your question?
