I think so. They answer light hearted questions with serious answeres because they are not light harted people:) like me!!

Truth be told people like to talk about issues and sometimes light hearted questions are just a screen for serious feelings

It probably depends on their frame of mind when they are answering. If they are having a good day, their answers might be lighthearted and funny. If not, they might not see the humor in the questions.
