Why do some people get so upset when discussing the truth of the bible?
I don’t know, but believers tend to get very upset when you point out to them that the Bible describes a narcissistic, hateful, vengeful, genocidal, homophobic misogynist who feels that the only unforgivable sin is not believing in and worshipping Him. They don’t like to discuss that no copy of any Biblical text in existence has been dated earlier than 900 BCE, that the original texts are not found, that many of the stories are derived from other, pagan cultures, that none of the gospels are contemporary to Jesus, and that the Biblical canon in use by the Catholics and Protestants deliberately excluded (by democratic vote) any text that didn’t support their theology. They’d rather ignore those parts. Go figure.
