Why do some people get addicted to drugs while others don ?
I’ve been instructed on this, and addiction IS hereditary. You don’t become an addict just because you did a larger quantity of drugs or used drugs when you were stressed, sad, etc. From birth, addicts are predisposed with an “allergy” to drugs/alcohol. Either you have it, or you don’t. If you have this “allergy”, the body doesn’t react to drugs the same way that a non-addict’s body would….therefore, causing a craving to CONSTANTLY need drugs.
You become an addict when you lose the ability to to “say no”. It can be heredity but anyone can become addicted no matter the family history, its a choice noone forces a pill down your throat and noone sticks the needle into your arm. There are many reason’s why people become addicted and the most common I’ve seen is the inability to face reality and responsibility.
It genetic. The same way that some diseases and viruses dont affect everyone, the same applies to drug addiction. Addiction is also a result of how emotionally you are connected to drug use. If you use drugs when you are angry, upset, or have the need to release stress, more than likely your addiction will be connected to one of those emotions.
