Why do some people call this place Leipers Fork and others call it Hillsboro?
Now that is an excellent question! Leipers Fork is the official state name for this community ever since the town of Hillsboro near Manchester TN was incorporated and got its own post office. At that time, our Hillsboro was forced by the state to have its name changed to Leipers Fork. This little town has been known by both monikers at different periods in its lengthy 200+ year history. The name Hillsboro is a very important part of Leipers Forks heritage, and is worthy of respect as such. For many people, this area is Hillsboro and always will be. Hillsboro Road got its name because the original route (now known as Old Hillsboro Road ran from Nashville to Hillsboro. In fact, for many years we had a sign on one end of town that said Hillsboro and another that said Leipers Fork. Whatever you call it, its a mighty fine place to live.
