Why do some people call formula “sugar water” or “corn syrup”?

Ive never head it called either of those – the only time ive heard of sugar water is as an old school reference to soft drink or soda, and corn syrup i think is like glucose. If they are refering to formula as sugar water or corn syrup, its just the breast feeding brigade being smart and trying to make all formula feeding mums feel as if they are neglecting their children – dont listen to them!
