Why do some people associate Spam with cannibalism?

But if there was no food left, humans were chosen randomly, especially on ships lost amidst the ocean. Spam is the cheapest food anyone can get, yet it contains salt, minerals and proteins. So people say it’s the “poor people food” to survive, remembering the old rule of despair and starvation.
