Why do some murder / kidnap cases get national coverage and some don ?
I think the only answer to that is on some of the immediate family of the murder or kidnap victim do not like to be expose in the media that is why they preferred to make it as low profile as possible. I knew one rich family who do not like to be name who were kidnapped and to get it over with payed the kidnappers. They told the media their story after 3 years. THE PROBLEM with kidnapping incident if they are expose immediately on the media, the lives of the victim are at stakes. That is why the police kept the media away as possible no lead and no exposure to the public. To keep it as low key as possible and not to alert the kidnappers that the public already knew the story. Never seen the movie RANSOM of Mel Gibson? Instead of succumb to the wishes of the kidnappers for the life of his boy, Gibson according to the story expose the kidnapping to the MEDIA against the wishes of her own wife and the FBI. Rich people most likely do not like to expose their situation in kidnapping inciden
