Why do some Jewelers offer warranties?
At the most basic level: Warranty or service packages are really just a marketing/customer service strategy. They are trying to lock you into being a repeat customer. If you have to come into the same jewelry store once every 3 or 6 months to get your ring cleaned or repaired, that increases the number of times you come into the store thus increasing the chance a new piece of jewelry or spectacular sale will catch your eye and make you buy something. At a basic customer service standpoint, its just good business to build trust with your customers. Give you customers the confidence of knowing that if something happens to they’re jewelry they know exactly where to go to get it fixed. Read the rules and details of any store warranty or repair plan you buy. Many stores will consider your warranty invalid if you go to another jeweler for any repairs, even something as simple as resizing. Some may require that you always present the original purchase receipt of either the ring or the warrant
