The scam comes when these supposed (nice guys) offer to stack your wood for free and when you come out with your checkbook, your woodpile looks like a Jenga game. This criss-cross stacking fashion gives you a lot of airspace and little of what you paid for, firewood. Criss-cross stacking can yield 30%-50% less volume Please don’t feel bad if you have been a victim of this deceitful business practice. Unfortunately many fly-by-night outfits have been doing this to unknowing customers for years.
