Why do some computers use different cables?
Different KVM switch brands and models utilize different cable connections. Some KVM switch models that use “industry standard” connections may use different gender connections. Computers of different platforms may also have different connectors, such as PS/2 for keyboard and mouse, HD15 for VGA video, 13W3 for Sun video, Sun keyboard/mouse, USB for Suns or Macs, ADB for older Macintoshes.
