Why do some churches/religions frown upon people who may have some psychic gifts?
Some of the folks on here are down right frightening. If I could foresee things like where the best harvest was going to be, if I could look at a man and tell what was wrong with him and fix it, according to these people that’s something that comes from Satan. But isn’t that what Jesus did? Cast your nets on the other side of the boat. I believe that Jesus was an excellent teacher and that he had powers available to but not used by normal people. These powers aren’t the work of the devil, they are gifts from God. To deny that is to deny God. These well meaning zealots are precisely why I don’t go to church. I commune with God on my own. I don’t need a go between, I don’t need someone screaming at me about sin, I know right from wrong, God tells me. Don’t worry yourself about what churches accept or don’t accept. They aren’t God.
