You can’t think that this is disgusting and still eat “all animal foods.” In America, 99% of animals are raised on factory farms. Animals are taken from their mothers and put in cages so small they can’t even turn around. These cages are stacked on top of each other, so that their feces and urine fall directly on their neighbors below. They’re pumped with hormones. Specialists have calculated the length of starvation and negligence that can be endured before an animal dies, allowing “farmers” (what is a farmer, anymore? certainly not the kind you’d picture in your head.) to save money on feed. “Downers,” or animals that have fallen down and cannot get up (many due to simply-fixed things like dehydration) are left for days to die slowly. When animals are finally given mercy through death, the process is more-often-than-not extremely drawn-out and painful.
