Why do so many women despise beards in western cultures?
It’s simply a matter of social norms, and it’s not restricted to women, nor is it anything new. There have been times when facial hair was out of fashion, and men with whiskers, moustaches or beards would be looked on as very suspect (in the early 19th century it could get you branded as a potential revolutionary). Fashion, culture – they all contribute to it. Look at Ancient Egypt: being clean-shaven there was the norm among the upper classes. Look at the Amish: they will wear beards, but not moustaches, because in times past the moustache was particularly associated with the military.
Women may not like full on beards nowadays, but i think many like or at least dont’ mind some scruff as far as facial hair goes or a short, trimmed bear/stache. As far as what u wrote, it’s true that its different between men and women and men obviously liking women to not have hairy and being feminine, just as women don’t mind men with some body/face hair. But, as far as the breasts thing goes, it’s obvious men like women with boobs, while women don’t like men with boobs is gross obviously, or would assume. But women do like pecs or men with a chest, so in that breast sense, women do like it, if it is in the muscle sense (pecs) as long as nott too muscular and not in the literal sense (man boobs).
