Why do so many landlords say no DSS when letting their property?

Higher risk of both getting paid for the rent and damage to the property. Unfortunately housing benefit does not always get paid on time, there are limits to the amount they will actually pay and any change in circumstances of the tenant causes more problems which puts a lot of landlords off. DSS tenants are also more likely to be at home or day causing more wear and tear to the property and I have to say it – are also more prone to anti social behaviour. Professionals are much less likely to trash a property. You also have the problem of getting a deposit out of a DSS tenant.
