Why do so many items in the CAHPS PCMH Survey ask about specific chronic conditions?
The CAHPS PCMH Survey is designed to be applicable to patients regardless of the type of chronic condition they may have (if any). However, the field test version of the PCMH Survey includes a series of items in the About You/Your Child section to identify respondents with specific chronic conditions. This will enable researchers to conduct condition-specific analyses of the field test data. These items will not be included in the final adult and child survey instruments.
