Why do so many DJs only offer the Classic Style? Why don more DJs offer the Biographical Style?
The Classic Style is relatively easy (or so we think) and has become the minimum that couples will accept for their wedding (the Jukebox Style USED to be the minimum acceptable style in the 80’s and early 90’s, but thankfully couples got wise and decided they wanted more). There are 3 reasons the Biographical Style is so rare: 1) it’s DIFFICULT 2) it takes AT LEAST 15 hours of preparation 3) it takes a DJ who sincerely puts the bride and groom before his own ego. This last one is rare considering that most DJs became DJs because they like being the center of attention. There are also many DJs who have “borrowed” some of the easier biographical items and use them. What they don’t understand is that it is more than just “doing” these things (That is why they aren’t considered Biographical DJs). More important is the way the DJ is “being” when he does them. It is ALL about the attitude.
