Why do so many black people in New York City hate themselves?
I notice in the DB that most people were basically trying to say that you really didn’t see what you saw, or that you were suffering from some strange vision problem that prevented you from seeing people without dark skin. Zoomla, I don’t doubt your observation at all. Rather than deny the reality of your experience, I’m going to accept your observation as accurate at the time and place you were at. I am going to assume that your question is an honest attempt by one human to understand the behavior observed in some other humans. I have also observed similar behavior. When I taught in a public school I frequently witnessed black children habitually rude to one another and calling each other names that I considered to be awful and had rarely heard before. It is also to be noted that black comedians and some rap artist use, what to me, is very abusive and demeaning language toward members of their own race.
