Why do Scottish men wear skirts?
Firstly, the kilt is not a skirt. The modern kilt, the feileadh beag (small kilt) is a representation of the garments worn in the highlands in the past, which was simply a tartan blanket wrapped around the body and secured with a brooch. This would be called the feileadh mor (big kilt) in today’s language.
