06-Mar-2006 The Windows implementation adjusts for regression dilution (see questions 7 & 8) by default and uses “Age now”. The Excel implementation does not automatically adjust for regression dilution and uses “Age at diagnosis of diabetes”. This is because the Windows version has been designed for use in clinical practice whereas the Excel version is intended primarily for use by researchers and by health planners. The two implementations will give identical results if equivalent settings are used.
