Why do reptiles make good pets?

I think the initial appeal of reptiles is the fact that they are so DIFFERENT from anything else. They eat strange things, require foreign setups, regulate their body temperature externally, and everything about them from their eyes to their skin can seem downright weird at first. That’s what made me interested in them at first, at least. I just thought they interesting. It’s hard to imagine these animals having personality–at first I didn’t think they could–but they can. To me, that’s what’s so fascinating about them. They are so different from us (as people, or as mammals) in many, many ways, and yet they can still possess some individual qualities and personalities…that just blows my mind…that something so unlike us can also, in some respects, be like us…to me, that’s just awesome. I’ll admit, there are SOME reptiles with less personality than others, mostly the little green treefrogs (I know, not technically a reptile) and anoles. BUT even then there are still exceptions. T
