Why do raisers use training collars on The Seeing Eye puppies?
The Seeing Eye puppies are introduced to a training collar at six months of age if necessary in order to help the raiser control powerful and excitable puppies. The training collar is properly fitted by area coordinators to ensure that it works correctly. When the puppies return to The Seeing Eye they will see nothing but a training collar throughout his/her training there so exposure to a training collar at a young age is helpful in training as well.
