Why do Protestants wear orange shamrocks for St. Patricks Day?
We weren’t able to verify our hunches anywhere, but an informal survey of The Upper Room staff revealed our opinion that wearing of orange shamrocks may have more political than religious significance. In Ireland, the Orange Order is Protestant. It could be that Protestants wear orange and Roman Catholics wear green. If anyone has a more definitive answer to this question, we welcome your thoughts!
