Why do projects expire after seven months?
We feel that seven months is an appropriate time frame for environmental action to take place. A window longer than this period increases the chances that project conditions may change. For example, a teacher may apply for funding to take students on a field trip to learn about an environmental issue in NYC. After seven months, the academic year may have ended. Or consider the community garden that wants wake up the beds in spring. If the project is not funded in time for the right season, the project will be delayed. A defined window to seek funding lets projects better plan for changing conditions. Additionally, par of our commitment to our donors is that they be able to follow their impact and see the results of their donation(s) within a reasonable period of time.
