Why do professional painters thin the paint with water?
The paint manufacturers are making the paint from scratch with a percentage of solids, resin, water and other chemicals. Rather then adding water at the factory and shipping the water to us, they allow us to use local water to thin the paint to their specifications, this will save both of us money, Remember, it is always better to apply two thin coats of paint then one thick coat. You will receive the recommended 1.5 to 3 mil of paint coating as is specified by your builder.
