Why do prices for Home Inspections vary so much?
Nowhere does the old adage “you get what you pay for” apply better than in the home inspection industry. As a rule if you are getting a rock bottom price for your inspection, there’s a good chance you are not getting as much as you might from a higher priced Inspector. While there are always exceptions, the inspection that follows a low bid usually will not be as thorough as a higher priced inspection and the inspector typically is not as experienced. Part of the increased price is the knowledge and experience which is available to you through the more experienced Inspector. The documentation provided (especially with new construction inspections) typically will be better with a higher priced and typically more experienced Inspectors.
