Why do political parties make an issue out of the Uniform Civil Code only during elections?

0

They do this just to secure their vote-banks. Whenever a parliamentary election is near, political parties start making pompous statements about their intention to implement the Uniform Civil Code. But as soon as the elections get over, they forget about the whole thing. How will people benefit by the Uniform Civil Code? If the Uniform Civil Code is implemented, the country will be able to rid itself of several problems that it’s facing today. Issues like unemployment, shortage of food and population increase will all find a common solution. Since there will be no different laws for Hindus and Muslims and other religions, it will help bridge the social disparity.
