Why do polarized lenses cost more than acrylic or non-polarized lenses?
There is a big difference in performance. Non-polarized lenses are just colored plastic that darken the total image equally. In order to get any glare reduction, a non-polarized lens has to reduce the total amount of useful light and glare equally. Polar-Optics Polarized lenses are the product of a special production process and uniquely eliminate glare while not over darkening the image. This allows us to produce lenses that provide a higher level of sun and glare protection in a wider variety of colors and contrasts.
