Why do PLOP putters all have full face aluminum inserts?
Extensive studies by putter designer Jake Schmidt have found that aluminum is the best metal to putt a golf ball. There are 58 different tensile strengths of aluminum from extremely soft which can be dented with your fingernail to extremely hard which is similar to the hardness of carbon steel. The tensile strength of the full face inserts on PLOP putters was scientifically chosen to impart an optimum of over spin on the golf ball at impact for a true roll and to minimize any bounce or backspinning. The PLOP full face aluminum insert also maintains its integrity of precisely milled flatness over years of use and from exposure to adverse weather and changes in heat and cold conditions. Other manufacturers use synthetic inserts to achieve a soft feel at impact, but the face begins to dent and warp over a short period of time and from normal use.
