Why do plants need to make chlorophyll?

0

Plants use chlorophyll to turn water and carbon dioxide into sugars for them to use. If they did not make and thereby use chlorophyll, they would either use something else (in which case we would call that substance something else) or plants would not exist (in which case we would not call it anything because there would be nothing to call it).
