Why do plant nurseries have green translucent shade/roof?

0

The green you see is light reflected from the shade screen while other wavelengths are transmitted through. After all when you stand under the nursery canopy you can see well enough to see in color therefore light in all the wavelengths is coming through, just at a reduced intensity for plants adapted to growing under a tree canopy of leaves. The nursery’s shade roof filters light in the same way as the tree canopy. Leaves absorb some of the light, but not all, and transmit some through the leaf to the ground, since you can still see color while under a dense tree canopy, and the leaf reflects green wavelengths to our eyes to appear green.
