Why do people think they have to go away somewhere far to be on holiday?
To me a holiday needs to include several things; time away from home and the job, new experiences, culture, relaxation and good food. We travel extensively in Europe and further away. It doesn’t matter where you go really as long as it’s away from the hassle of daily life. I count myself incredibly lucky to have experienced other countries and travel to third world places really open your eyes and make you appreciate what you have compared to what they have. And often the poorer nations seem the happiest. I could never stay at home on holiday, work would call me, I would have the laptop out or end up doing housework and DIY.
