Why do people think Japanese haven apologizaed to Korea when they have, countless countless times?
Just as an example, the exact day Prime Minister Koizumi apologized, scores of members of Parliament went to the Yasukuni shrine to pay their respects to Class A war criminals and 100’s of lesser war criminals. Also, despite their apologies their compensation to Korea has been limited to say the least. People who have been to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, etc… comment on how little culture and religion, Korea has… where are the temples? Japan destroyed nearly a thousand temples in the process. They also admit their past wrongs, but refuse to give back cultural treasures. That’s like me beating you up, taking your wallet, apologizing for it later, but refusing to give back the stolen contents. This is why the relatively recent apology just a month ago was so significant; this time Japan said it would begin to give back Korean treasures, and not just an empty apology. At the end of the day, history belongs to the victors and I’m not one to forever say that Japan regardless of the past will be
