Why do people think adoption is an alternative to abortion?
This is a difficult question you’ve posed here. I hope very much that you do not have to make either choice, as both would be painful to any young or not young woman who has the need to make the decision. Abortion would come under the same classification as the new laws that are coming up that say if a pregnant woman is murdered, then it is 2 counts of murder. The law is beginning to turn toward life begins at inception, not at the moment that the child can breathe on their own. I am of a different middle of the road mindset. I believe once a baby has hands, feet, a heart that is beating, and brain function then they are alive, still in the womb. That seems to be the contention of abortionists…. if the baby cannot survive outside the uterus, it is not a baby, but a fetus. Giving away a person you’ve spent 9 months attached to is also a very difficult decision.
